By strengthening microfinance institutions, savings and credit unions (like Arsi Zone Duro Shalla), and partnering with commercial banks (such as Sidama Bank), the program provides the professional support and credit necessary for farmers to overcome systemic hurdles like rising fertilizer costs, seed shortages, and climate change.
As a result, families who once struggled to meet basic needs are now diversifying into livestock farming, educating their children, and transitioning from humble dwellings to modern homes, with some even securing savings exceeding half a million Birr.
